Medication safety is key for IDA quality

Health day

Amsterdam, 17 September 2022 – This day marks World Patient Safety Day, which calls for global solidarity and action to improve patient safety worldwide. The COVID-19 pandemic has put unprecedented pressure on health systems and health workers globally, both highly important for patient safety. This year’s campaign theme is ‘Medication Safety’, emphasising the need to adopt a systems approach and promote safe medication practices to prevent medication errors and to reduce medication-related harm.

At IDA Foundation, we realise it has always been our responsibility to create access to quality-assured medicines and medical supplies, which are safe for patients, caregivers and healthcare providers. IDA’s quality assurance system is based on a number of factors, including risk assessment of production sites, review of product dossiers, and continuous evaluation of the quality of products supplied by IDA.

Hence, our QA process doesn’t stop with the approval of a manufacturing site and a specific product. Our Quality Affairs team audits and advises suppliers so that we can provide the products and services our customers trust. We continue to review our suppliers through an ongoing verification and monitoring process. During storage and transport of products we monitor the goods and make sure there is no opportunity to interfere with our secure supply chains, for example with falsified or counterfeit materials.
