Visit to Southern Africa

Blog

Amsterdam, 30 September 2021 - ‘Strengthened Local Capacity’ is one of our long-term goals, and with a global network of over 30 agents and distributors, these essential partners provide IDA and its customers with an important local presence in countries where we are able to bridge necessary gaps in access to essential health products. Our local partners assist with sales, logistics, communication, and other key elements of the supply chain and delivery process. In addition, our local distributors keep their own stock of different IDA quality-assured products, making them more accessible to customers needing smaller or urgent orders.

This month, our Area Manager Alexander traveled for the first time since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. As with many countries in Africa, COVID-19 restrictions are still in place, meaning that travelling has become more complex, for example with additional testing to cross borders. Nonetheless, these visits are important and very valuable to both parties to enhance our relationships, exchange knowledge and expertise, and visit health (storage) facilities.

Alexander’s trip included visits to IDA’s agents, distributors, and key health partners in South Africa, ESwatini and Mozambique. Find some pictures of his visits below.
