IDA staff stays fit during lockdown

Blog

After months of working from home due to the major impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, we can say our staff does not take this as an excuse to stop exercising. The past few weeks our employees were challenged to share their ways of staying fit during this global crisis, with the very first IDA Fit Challenge. We asked colleagues to share how they are staying fit during lockdown.

We have seen very original work-outs and are very pleased to see that our staff is putting so much effort into their physical and mental well-being. Some of our employees go for long walks or bike-rides with their children and/or partners, while others use their living room, backyard, or local playground as a gym. One of our colleagues was boxing on the Nieuwmarkt in Amsterdam, while someone else took her partner supping on the canals of Amsterdam. Even though all their work-outs are different, our active staff members have one important thing in common: exercising helps them to stay mentally and physically fit.

For the staff members that need a little encouragement, we organised online yoga- and online Bollywood dancing-classes. These were a big success, even though we were not together in the office, this gave us the opportunity to be active together. Especially the Bollywood dancing classes were very popular, we found out it is a great way for our Amsterdam office to connect to the Mumbai office by practising something that is typical for the Indian culture.

The winning submissions of the IDA Fit Challenge came from Romane and Shweta. Romane is a true artist on wheels. She makes roller skating look very easy, but many of us know how hard it is! Our colleague Shweta from the Mumbai office is a top-notch yogini and she is not afraid to bend herself in multiple directions, a headstand obviously is not a problem for her! Romane and Shweta both won an activity tracker to help them with many more healthy work-outs.

We are proud of our employees and we hope they will keep motivating others and that they keep up with their healthy routines, so they are fit and happy once we all return to the office.
