Epidemic Control

Since the COVID-19 outbreak in the end of 2019, IDA has been actively working on the sourcing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) products for epidemic response, anticipating upcoming global healthcare challenges, especially in low-and middle-income countries. Our focus is on ensuring people, especially healthcare workers, are protected while doing their work. But we are also supplying diagnostic tests and other related items.

Experience and portfolio

During the COVID pandemic we supplied large quantities of PPE to over 30 different customers worldwide. To rapidly scale up in the supply of PPE, IDA set up an emergency QA approval process which incorporated IDA's quality guidelines (see Quality). This allowed us to efficiently and effectively approve PPE products from a broad range of suppliers, all well documented in IDA’s Quality Management System. Through our China office, IDA was up to date on all market developments, and we have been able to find solutions for export limitations, a typical COVID-19 challenge for PPE in especially in the first half of 2020.
