Celebrating World Health Day

Health day

Amsterdam, 7 April 2022 – Every year on the 7th of April, World Health Day, we celebrate the founding of the World Health Organization. World Health Day 2022’s theme is ‘Our planet, our health’, highlighting the impact of the environment on our health.

WHO estimates that over 13 million deaths around the world on a yearly basis are due to avoidable environmental causes. Besides that, rising temperatures and floods caused by climate change will put 2 billion people at risk of dengue fever, a mosquito-borne disease.

We are dependent on nature and the environment around us to remain healthy, and we need to ensure healthy futures for the coming generations by protecting our environment.

IDA Foundation has prioritised sustainability in its long-term strategy through its goal of creating Sustainable Value Chains. As a member of UN Global Compact and through our commitment to the SDGs, we take meaningful action for a #HealthierTomorrow!
