Creating awareness for paediatric cancer

More than 250,000 children and adolescents below 20 are diagnosed with cancer every year. Sadly, 90,000 do not survive. It's estimated that the actual number of young cancer patients is much higher, as many more remain undiagnosed and unreported, as 80 percent of these children are from low- and middle-income countries. In these countries health systems are weak, and therefore inaccessible and unaffordable to most patients. This also means that essential medicines to treat cancers are unaffordable, or just not avalable.

IDA Foundation aims to improve access to cancer medicines, by increasing its portfolio of oncology medicines. See our Oncology page for more information.

Marieke Korsten, IDA's Business Development Manager, will be presenting at the SIOP Global Conference in Washington DC next month, and we will be exhibiting at the AORTIC Conference in Rwanda (7-11 November 2017). We would love to meet you there! Get in touch to plan a meeting.
