Malaria

Treatment

Malaria infections can be treated with anti-malarial medicines. Chloroquine and Sulfadoxine-pyrimethamine (SP) are traditional medicines to treat malaria. However, since drug resistance to these medicines is high (64% failure to chloroquine and a 45% failure to sulfadoxine-pyrimethamine), WHO recommends the use of artemisinin-based combination therapy (ACT) in cases of drug-resistant falciparum malaria.

IDA Foundation offers a complete range of antimalarial drugs. We supply:
• ACTs, co-blisters and Fixed Dose Combinations (FDC)
• Single-dose therapy, including injections recommended by
WHO in case of severe malaria
