Malaria is one of the world's most common and life threatening tropical diseases. The disease popes a serious threat in over half of the world's countries. Every year, there are at least 300 million cases of malaria worldwide.

This years goal for the international malaria community is to meet the 2010 targets of delivering effective and affordable protection and treatment to all people at risk of malaria.
