IDA Foundation acts as the exclusive procurement agent, contracted by the GDF, to supply MDR TB medication to the GLC approved projects all over the world.
Up until now, a total of about 90 projects in 60 different countries have received MDR TB medicines via IDA Foundation.

A part of the agreement between GDF and IDA is to build and maintain a stockpile. The content of the stock is elaborated by GDF and is sufficient for a half year treatment of a total of 5.800 patients.
This stock is created in order to be able to swiftly respond to emergency situations or shortages. UNITAID finances the stockpile.
