Making Quality Healthcare Affordable
Donation to Haiti
The International Charity Federation (ICF), the umbrella organisation overseeing IDA Foundation, has selected International Medical Corps (IMC) as the recipient of a €100,000 donation
With this funding IMC will be able utilise IDA Foundation essential medicines and medical supplies to support their ongoing medical interventions and outreach into Haiti – including 15 mobile and temporary clinics staffed by 60 medical professionals. More than 1,500 patients are treated per day by IMC’s network of clinics.
In Petit Goave, IMC is running a boat clinic that visits three different sites along the coast that cannot be reached by road to provide communities health care that have never before had access. The International Charity Federation in coordination with IDA Foundation is honoured to directly support IMC’s effort in Haiti.
IMC responded immediately when the devastating earthquake hit Haiti on January 12 this year. Within 22 hours the IMC Emergency Response Team arrived in the afflicted area to provide medical care to the survivors in one of the world’s most economically vulnerable countries. IMC’s program in Haiti will continue to identify and respond to additional needs and work alongside both local and international partners.
IMC has over 25 years of experience in implementing major relief and development programs. Through the development of health, education and social programs the lives of people in more than 50 countries worldwide have been improved significantly.
