Area Manager East Africa

Job description
The Area Manager has sales responsibilities for one or more areas in low income countries in East Africa.
The Area Manager is responsible for Sales, Business Development and for the execution of orders in close contact to the team of sales support executives (SSE) and tender project coordinators.

Position in the organisation:
The Area Manager reports to the Sales & Marketing Manager.

Responsibilities & tasks:
-    Create and execute sales strategies for the area to achieve targets
-    Develop and maintain (key) partner- &  relationships
-    Cooperate closely with internal sales support & procurement department ensuring customer satisfaction
-    Trace, select, appoint and manage the right (logistics) partners in the region
-    Development of strategic and tactical account plans for key customers
-    New business development
-    Delivery on annual revenues and contribution margin objectives
-    Reports to the manager Marketing & Sales
Candidate profile
-    Minimum of 5-10 years sales experience in international business to business markets
-    Track record in account management & business development in developing countries
-    Experience with indirect channels and management of agents
-    Commercial personality with strong analytic and interpersonal skills
-    Experience in the pharmaceutical- or food market is an asset
-    Drive to make a difference for countries where IDA is a key partner in national healthcare
Requirements:
-    University or HBO level of education
-    Fluent English and preferably French or Portuguese
-    Willing and able to travel approximately 25% of the time
