Making Quality Healthcare Affordable

Emergency Response

** Haiti Hurricane Response Update **

IDA Foundation has been carefully monitoring the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew in Haiti. We are saddened to see the level of destruction and to learn of the many lives lost. Rebuilding and recovery will be difficult, and we know that many organizations are already mobilizing a response.

In addition to emergency health kits from our Amsterdam warehouse, IDA now has quality-assured essential medicines and supplies stocked in Port au Prince with our partner, Haiti Medicine. These are IDA products and are available for immediate delivery within Haiti.

A full list of available items can be found here. To place an order or for more information, please contact Kesney Auguste at Haiti Medicines at, or by phone at  + 509 3762-6582.

In order to react immediately in acute emergency situations, IDA is available 24/7 and offers the Interagency Emergency Health Kit (IEHK 2011) as a priority item from stock.

The contents of the IEHK 2011 kit are determined by World Health Organization (WHO) in cooperation with international and non-governmental relief agencies and have been adopted by many organisations and national authorities as a reliable, standardised, affordable and quickly available source of essential medicines and medical devices urgently required in disaster situations.

IDA also offers other product kits in response to emergency health situations. For example, our Cholera care kit contains the products that are essential for a cholera outbreak, and the Italian Emergency Kit A - Traumatological profile contains medicines for the treatment of 100 people affected by trauma.

Following emergencies, we can offer assistance in providing a broad range of essential medicines and medical supplies from stock, suitable to each emergency situation. These are available for shipment within 48 hours.
